Rooted in the YWCA
The Compass Training Centre is a not-for-profit business of the YWCA of Peterborough, Victoria and
Haliburton. All Compass Training Centre services are guided by the core values of: Learning, Creativity,
Positive Approaches, Collaboration, Inclusion, Risk-Taking, Passion, Equity, Diversity and Respect.
The YWCA of Peterborough, Victoria and Haliburton
has more than 100 years of history in supporting individuals in gaining access to new skills and charting
new directions. The organization itself has also had to change and adapt over the years. In 2003,
important work undertaken by the YWCA¡¯s Anti-Oppression/Anti-Racism committee was nominated
for an Award of Excellence by the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.
The Compass Training Centre
builds on this deep understanding of how to facilitate learning and change, and provides high quality
training and facilitation services to assist other organizations and businesses striving for
change.
